The Nest Cam IQ Outdoor is no longer available for purchase, Google has reported to 9to5Google after the site has found that the camera is out of stock in most countries around the world. However, the company says that “Nest will keep investing in innovations” including a “new lineup of security cameras for 2021.”
For now, Google is only offering $129 Nest Cam Indoor, $299 Next Cam IQ Indoor, and $199 Nest Cam Outdoor.IQ versions have upgraded video quality and AI-based features including facial and pet recognition. Google says it will continue to support the current Nest cameras with new features and security upgrades. None of the latest hardware is newer than 2017, so an update is likely to be postponed.
Google did not include any specifics on what the latest Nest Cam lineup would actually entail, or when it will launch, although it’s not really shocking to see the business get ahead of the unveiling. Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 were announced months ahead of their final delivery date, while Google tweeted an early photo of Pixel 4 the previous year to discourage imminent leaks.
Google also seems to be working on a new Nest Center with Soli radar gesture assistance, as shown in the latest FCC filing.
