Google to add a new device member into the family of Chromecast with Google TV that launched in 2020.

Chromecast with Google TV was launched in October 2020, which was different from earlier versions of Chromecast. This Chromecast was designed to compete with other streaming devices such as Firestick(Amazon Fire TV stick) and Roku. Google TV has UI with Play Store support for installing other applications and games. Also, it had a Google Assistant-enabled remote. And there had been some earlier spec present.

Chromecast is simple and versatile among its competitor media streaming devices like Amazon Fire Stick, though Amazon Fire Stick has its own advantage over Chromecast if you want all-round experience, sources say.
In recent times the same Chromecast was found to be lagging in some specs, especially in storage factor. The specs were 2 GB ram, 8 GB storage, and 4K resolution.
According to sources, Google is preparing an Android-powered device which is having a code name as ‘Boreal’. Sources discovered that Boreal is linked to the same Google TV Chromecast software specifications built for Android powers the Chromecast with Google TV. Also boreal is found to be from the same family device as Sabrina, that is the current Chromecast with Google TV.
Although there is very little detail about Boreal hardware specs. one thing is definite did the upcoming Chromecast will have hardware decoding support for AV1 format, this particular spec was not present in Chromecast with Google TV that Android TV also required.
