LG to Reveal 48-Inch Bendable OLED Cinematic Display at CES 2021
LG Display introduced the first 48-inch OLED (CSO) bendable cinematic sound display ahead of CES 2021. The panel has a paper-thin screen that twists and unfolds at a curvature radius of up to 1,000R. Bending the show would allow users optimum viewing access which is especially useful for gamers. The bendable OLED monitor comes with film sound OLED (CSO) technology that enables them to vibrate and make their own sound without using any speakers. LG is looking to set this show up for the demo at CES 2021 next week.
LG’s latest bendable monitor is expected to be the world’s first 48-inch bendable CSO display. A new video has already been posted on YouTube that teases its arrival at CES 2021. The company believes that the TV can bend to a radius of 1,000 mm without disrupting the display function. It can be put straight like a standard TV or twisted for a more immersive experience, thanks to its bending capability.
There’s an ultra-slim film exciter, which is actually the component that vibrates the display. LG claims this component has been reduced to a thickness of just 0.6mm from 9mm, causing the screen to be very thin. The 48-inch bending film sound OLED monitor provides a response time of 0.1 milliseconds, a refresh rate of 120Hz per second, and a large variable refresh rate range from 40Hz to 120Hz.
Also, LG declares that the bendable OLED monitor has been accredited to emit low levels of blue light and to be flicker-free. “LG Display’s 48-inch Bendable CSO display is optimized for gaming as it maximizes the use of advanced technology that produces another level in terms of providing an immersive experience. In other words, it offers the very best gaming environment to gamers,” said Dr. Chang-ho Oh, Executive Vice President and Head of the TV Business Unit at LG Display.
