Restaurant food delivery companies like Uber eats to deliver groceries now
Companies like Uber Eats and Delivery Hero who use to deliver restaurant food to customers are now expanding their operations to deliver groceries to people who can’t move out of their homes due to this global epidemic of the corona crisis.
On Wednesday the food delivery company UBER eats said that they are tying knots with a supermarket group Carrefour which is in France and states that it has similar plans for expanding its operations in Brazil and Spain.
Delivery Hero which is a berlin-based company also said that they will be expanding their operation in approx 40 countries that are on their radar.
This will start in Paris with 15 stores of the carrefour delivering groceries via Uber eats and will soon be expanded to the whole country.
Uber eats said that customers can place their orders between 11 am to 11 pm via their app or website for groceries. The company also said that they will also try to deliver them within 30 minutes.
Uber eats also said they will waive off any delivery charges in April.
The company also said in a statement that they will aim to deliver the products to the final customers within 20 minutes as there won’t be any time needed to cook the food.
Uber eats is partnering with Galp in Spain for delivery of grocery items and also in brazil they will be partnering with pharmacies to deliver medical supplies.
