A new member of the Vivo V40 series, “Vivo V40 5G”, sighted on GCF, Bluetooth SIG and TDRA
Vivo recently released the V40 SE in the European market, and now another smartphone from the V40 series called the V40 5G, has been spotted. This device, with the model number “V2348,” has appeared on the GCF, UAE’s TDRA, and Bluetooth SIG certifications. While UAE’s TDRA doesn’t reveal much detail about its specifications, the GCF and Bluetooth SIG listings provide some insights, which I will discuss below.
Vivo V40 GCF, Bluetooth SIG, and UAE’s TDRA
Starting with the GCF certification, I learned that the Vivo V40 will support 5G connectivity. The certification revealed it will feature 5G NR (SA) and 5G EN-DC (NSA). This means that the Vivo V40 will have dual connectivity, allowing the smartphone to connect to both 5G and 4G LTE networks simultaneously. The GCF listing also showed the 5G bands it will support: n1, n2, n3, n5, n8, n20, n28 (30MHz bandwidth), n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78.
Next in line is the Bluetooth SIG, which also shows the same model number and moniker. According to this listing, the Vivo V40 will come equipped with Bluetooth version 5.4, the latest version. This leads me to believe that it might be a repackaged version of the upcoming Chinese Vivo S19.
Lastly, the TDRA certification also reveals the same model number and moniker, suggesting that the launch is imminent in the UAE. The TDRA listing doesn’t show the equipment registration number, indicating that it is probably still getting the required approval.
Looking at previous reports, the Vivo V40 Lite 5G was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG, and a 4G variant of the Vivo V40 SE was also sighted on the Bluetooth SIG. Also, Vivo V40 Pro was sighted on the EE UK and IMEI database revealing it will have NFC support also. This means that there will be more models in this series, including the Vivo V40.
