Apple’s iPhone 17 Series CAD-Based Renders Revealed; iPhone 17 Pro Max Back Case Images Also Shared
Last year in the month of September 2024 Apple debuted its iPhone 16 series with four smartphone models – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, & iPhone 16 Pro Max, and this year in February 2025 the brand also introduced its 4th generation SE model – iPhone 16e as the fifth smartphone model of the iPhone 16 series.
We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming iPhone 17 series over the past few months and now, new updates have arrived revealing the CAD-based renders of the next iPhone models as well as the back case images of the next Pro Max model. Here’s more about it.
iPhone 17 Series – Revealed CAD-Based Renders
Unlike the previous iPhone 14 series, iPhone 15 series, and iPhone 16 series, the iPhone 17 series that is most likely to debut in September or October of 2025 will be introducing a new Air model replacing the Plus model, and this time the tech world will possibly be witnessing the debut of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.
The CAD-based renders that have been revealed online (received via @MajinBuOfficial and give below) points out the rear panel design of the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Pro respectively. Notably, the iPhone 17 Air is going to be featuring a vertically-placed elongated-pill-shaped camera module at the top as per the render (much like the latest Pixel devices’ camera modules), housing a single camera sensor, a microphone hole, and an LED flashlight. The standard iPhone 17 looks more or less similar to its predecessor with a horizontal pill-shaped camera module placed at the top-left corner equipped with two camera sensors. The LED flash is placed outside the camera module at its right side.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro renders reveal a larger vertically-placed rectangular-shaped camera module with rounded corners, featuring a triple camera system, LED flash, and a sensor. Also, as previously pointed out, a glass portion for wireless charging can be seen below the camera module on both the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro models.
Speaking more, at the bottom of all the devices, as per the renders, the USB Type-C charging port, microphone holes, and the speakers holes can be spotted as well.
iPhone 17 Pro Max – Back Case Images
The transparent back case images of the iPhone 17 Pro Max model (received via @SonnyDickson) point to some key design aspects of the device. We are able to spot the cutouts for the triangularly-placed triple cameras, as well as for the LED flash, microphone hole, and the added sensor. The back case also has the magnetic area to assist in wireless charging. Dedicated portions for the power button and camera control button at the right side, and for the action button and volume rockers at the left, can also be found in the back case images.
So far, based on the details available now, Apple is planning to bring a lot of changes and upgrades in terms of design and a few key specs in its iPhone 17 series.
