Apple’s Vision Pro with M5 Processor Might Arrive in 2025; Cheaper Vision Pro Production Likely Delayed Beyond 2027

The Cupertino-based tech manufacturer, Apple, had surprised the entire tech world with its new major product line after the Apple Watch of 2015 by introducing the brand’s Vision Pro at the 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference(WWDC23) in the month of June 2023. The pre-sale for this product began in January 2024, and in the next month, in February 2024, it was made available to customers in the United States, following which it was also released to customers in other countries as well. Reports regarding a cheaper version came in the same month when Apple first announced its Vision Pro and back then, the cheaper version was claimed to be called Vision or Vision One with an expected launch in late 2025 or later.

Now, Ming-Chi Kuo, the well-known analyst, has shared a few updates regarding the next upgraded version of the Vision Pro and also about the cheaper version. Read more about it below.

Vision Pro with M5 in 2025; Cheaper Vision Pro After 2027?

Based on what has been revealed in his X/Twitter post, Ming-Chi Kuo states that Apple plans on unveiling a newer version of the Vision Pro with its ‘currently announced’ M5 processor next year in 2025. He has also added that the Vision Pro with M5 chip will likely be the only head-mounted display device that Apple is planning on announcing next year.

About the rumored cheaper Vision Pro, Ming-Chi Kuo points out that its production has been delayed for a while, and could start only after 2027. If we look at the launch of the HomePod mini, a cheaper HomePod device, it failed to get widely accepted, and this is suggested to be the probable reason why Apple has delayed its cheaper Vision Pro production, as a price cut may not assure the intended success of the product.

Ming-Chi Kuo - Apple Vision Pro Cheaper Model - X Update

Speaking more, Apple’s current Vision Pro is powered by the M2 chip and is priced USD 3,499. Nothing about any possible specs updates has been revealed by Ming-Chi Kuo about the upgraded version, apart from the M5 chip addition. The cheaper Vision Pro, as is already known, is a much anticipated product of the tech sphere because of the USD 3,499 price tag of the Vision Pro that is available now. With the cheaper version of the Vision Pro, many more will be able to experience such a device from Apple [even though there are other competitor products available at lesser price points].

Stay tuned for more updates.
