HMD Barbie smartphone spotted on Elements certification ahead of its August 28th launch, charging specs revealed

HMD has announced the launch date of its budget flip smartphone, set for August 28th. Back in February 2024, HMD Global announced that it would launch the next flip smartphone with Barbie branding. At that time, not much was revealed. However, we have now spotted it on the Elements Certification, which has disclosed its charging specifications.

If you look at the screen grab below, you’ll see the model number TA-1681 listed with HMD Global as the manufacturer. The certification indicates it will support 5W fast charging (5Vdc x 1A). Although it doesn’t reveal the name, it is assumed to be an HMD Barbie smartphone.

Furthermore, a recent teaser released by HMD Global suggests it might be a rebranded Nokia 2660 Flip, which also comes in a pop pink colour. In the teaser, the word “Barbie” is clearly visible on the cover display. However, more details about this smartphone are awaited. We will surely update you all if anything new pops up.
