The earlier story continues below.
Huawei is set to launch a new smartwatch under its GT lineup. Previously, Huawei announced that it would not release a Pro variant of the GT 4 smartwatch, leading to speculation that the next model would be named the Huawei GT 5.
And now we have spotted it on multiple certifications, which not only reveal the moniker and model number but also some key specs of the device.
Huawei Watch GT 5
The smartwatch has been spotted on the Chinese 3C certification, as well as the Indonesian SDPPI and TUV certifications. This suggests that it will likely have a global launch, with Indonesia being a confirmed market according to the SDPPI certification.
In the SDPPI certification, the model number listed is “VLI-B19” and the moniker is Huawei Watch GT 5. Additionally, this same model number is listed on the TUV certification, revealing that it will come with an IP68 rating.
Lastly, the 3C certification lists the model number “VLI-B19,” indicating it may support 18W fast charging. Additionally, there is another model number, “VLI-B29,” which suggests there might be another variant of the GT 5. Given that the GT 4 came in 41mm and 46mm sizes, the GT 5 will likely follow a similar pattern. However, it is currently unknown which model number corresponds to which size.
At least we now have some information about this smartwatch, and there are also rumours suggesting that there might be a Pro variant released this year. It’s best to wait and see, as more details are likely to emerge soon.
