Google can launch the much-awaited smartphone Pixel 8a at its upcoming Google I/O 2024 event. Recently the marketing material of the smartphone was leaked online revealing a bunch of details about this upcoming handset. A while ago smartphone’s renders and official cover images were also leaked showing an extra color cover for the handset. Here we have summed up all the specs and features that Pixel 8a can come with.
Design
The leaked renders of the Pixel 8a suggest that it can come in four color options Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and Mint. It showed a dual camera setup arranged in a pill-shaped module. The design aspect gets a change at the edges that is curved from all sides unlike Pixel 7a which made it look properly rectangular in shape. Its bezels looked bigger than Pixel 8 and 8 Pro though not bigger than the Pixel 7a smartphone. So it won’t be wrong to say the design aspect stays almost the same as its predecessor with some changes.
Expected specifications
The Google Pixel 8a smartphone can come with a 6.1″ wide FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2000 nits of peak brightness, and Gorilla glass protection. It can be powered by Tensor G3 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In the camera department, the smartphone can boast a 64MP OIS camera with a 13MP ultrawide camera on the rear. On the front side we are likely to see a 13MP selfie camera. Its leaked marketing material revealed that it can come with various camera and image editing features like- Night view mode, real tone mode, Eraser magic, Google Photos packet correction feature, Voice eraser magic and Best Take.

The smartphone can be backed by a 4400mAh battery that supports Type C charging. Its battery is said to last 24 hours and with Super battery saver it lasts up to 72 hours. It can also come with the Titan M2 security chip, Google’s built-in VPN, and some other security features. It can support WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC. It will run Android 14 out of the box and is said to receive 7 years of feature drops, Android upgrades, and security updates. Its marketing material read that on the purchase of Google Pixel 8a, users will be getting 3 months of YouTube Premium, 6 months of Fitbit Premium, and three months of Google One’s 100GB plan for free. As per the leaked poster the Pixel 8a smartphone can come with the price tag of €549 in Europe. It also mentions the €150 exchange bonus when you trade in your old smartphone.
