Redmi pad 2 now clears Indian BIS certification, launch seems imminent

Just the other day, we discovered the Redmi Pad 2 on IMDA and UAE’s TDRA certification websites, carrying the model number “25040RP0AG”. The “G” at the end indicates that this is the global variant. Alongside this, another model number “2505DRP06G” was spotted on the EEC certification, which I believe is the LTE or 5G variant of the Redmi Pad 2.
Now, both of these model numbers have also appeared on the Indian BIS certification, but with a slight change—the last letter is “I” instead of “G”.
The certification shows that they were approved on 18th March 2025. Interestingly, both model numbers are listed together in the BIS certification, which further supports the idea that these are the Wifi only and LTE or 5G variants. As per the IMDA listing, the model number “25040RP0AG” is the Wi-Fi-only variant, so “25040RP0AI” would likely be its Indian version. However, the model number “2505DRP06G” hasn’t shown up in similar certifications yet, so it’s hard to confirm at this point whether it’s the LTE variant or not—but chances are, it is.
Now that these tablets have received BIS certification, we can expect their India launch to happen soon.
