Redmi Pad 2 (Wi-Fi only) clears IMDA and TDRA certification, model number revealed

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, launched the Redmi Pad in October 2022 in the Indian market. Now, almost two and a half years later, Redmi is set to make a comeback with the second-generation Redmi Pad 2. We have spotted the device on the UAE’s TDRA certification website, along with Singapore’s IMDA certification.

According to the TDRA certification, the device is listed with the model number “25040RP0AG”, and its product type is categorised as “short-range devices/lower devices.” Under the marketing name, it is mentioned as Redmi Pad 2.

On the IMDA certification, the same model number appears but without any specific moniker. However, the TDRA listing strongly suggests that it belongs to the Redmi Pad 2. Additionally, the IMDA certification confirms that this variant is a non-LTE model, likely the Wifi-only version of the tablet.

Back in January, the same model number also surfaced on the EEC certification website. Alongside it, another model number, “2505DRP06G”, was also spotted on the EEC certification. However, this second model number has not yet appeared on any other certification that reveals its identity. It is possible that it could be the LTE variant of the Redmi Pad 2, but without any evidence, we will have to wait for further certifications to confirm this.

Moreover, looking at both model numbers, the first four digits—2504 and 2505—suggest a possible April or May launch. However, this is not always the case. If more details emerge, we will share them accordingly.
