Samsung Can Launch AR Headset In Coming Days, Hints Published Patent Filed By Company

Apple has already made enough buzz in the augmented reality headset world by launching Vision Pro. Meta is also reported to be working on launching a new VR headset during the Meta Connect 2024. Now a new report has come that Samsung is also working on a VR/AR headset that it can launch in the coming days. 91mobiles has recently spotted a patent filing of a wireless charging case for an upcoming Samsung AR headset.

The patent was published on September 6th and was filed in February of this year. As per the patent description, it was filed under the wireless power transmission segment. Its sketch shows a box-like case where the AR headset is required to be placed for charging. Another image shows that AR headset lenses need to be aligned with the circular wireless charging coil in the charging case to charge it wirelessly. As of now, nothing for sure can be said as it might be in the final stage of patent filing though it still might be just an idea or a commercial product that it can launch in the coming days.

“Various embodiments of this disclosure may provide a wireless power transmitting apparatus where, upon wireless charging, the transmitting coil of the wireless power receiving device and the receiving coil of the wireless power receiving device (e.g., AR glasses) are aligned,” said the patent filing.
