Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Elite, ditches rumoured Exynos 2500
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked January 2025 event is just a week away, scheduled to take place on January 22nd, 2025. We have all been tracking the Galaxy S25 series, which will also be revealed during this event. The S25 series will initially include three models: S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, while there is still confusion surrounding whether it will also launch during the event or not.
Back in December 2024, a Geekbench listing with the model number “SM-936B” appeared, following an earlier listing in November that also featured the Exynos 2500 SoC. These listings suggested that the Galaxy S25 Plus might come equipped with the Exynos 2500. However, even then, several tipsters speculated that despite showing Exynos 2500, the device would likely feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead.
Now, the same model number, “SM-S936B,” has reappeared in the Geekbench database. According to the listing, it shows a single-core score of 2721 and a multi-core score of 9435, which is slightly lower than the Galaxy S25 Geekbench listing. The CPU configuration reveals two clusters: six cores running at 3.53 GHz and two cores running at 4.47 GHz. Further analysis of the source code shows an Adreno 830 GPU. Combining all this information confirms the chipset to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is exciting. Other details revealed include Android 15 (likely with One UI 7.0) and 10.72GB of RAM (likely marketed as 12GB RAM).
It is now clear that the Galaxy S25 Plus will also ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, just like all the other variants in the series.
