Samsung’s Next Galaxy A series smartphone A36 spotted on Geekbench with model number “SM-A366B”

We recently saw Samsung launching the Galaxy S24 FE along with the Galaxy Tab S10 series both in India and the Global market. And it seems a new launch is on its way, and it’s from Samsung’s Galaxy A series, called the Galaxy A36. It has been spotted on the Geekbench database with the model number “SM-A366B”.

Samsung Galaxy A36 5G Geekbench

First spotted by the folks at 91Mobiles, this is going to be the successor of the Galaxy A35 5G, which was also released this year only. As per the Geekbench listing, the details revealed [show] it has managed to get a single-core score of 314 and a multi-core score of 1279. And comparing it with its predecessor, which attained a 1020 single-core score while the multi-core score was 2973. This would mean, being the successor, there will be some performance drop.

The CPU has two clusters, showing 4 cores clocked at 1.80GHz and 4 cores clocked at 2.40 GHz. And the prototype that popped up shows at least 6GB of RAM. Although it isn’t clear which chipset it is, the publication speculates it to be either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

Here I feel that Samsung may not go this low for the Galaxy A36, while its predecessor showed at least better performance on Geekbench. Only time will tell, whether it will come with an underclocked chipset or somewhat better.
