Samsung’s Upcoming Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G Smartphones Listed on the BIS Database

Following the debut of the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone, the South Korean smartphone maker – Samsung is preparing for the launch of the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G models. After the Wi-Fi Alliance listing of the two, and the Geekbench listing of one of the two, the two upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphones have made it to India’s BIS certification database.

Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G – BIS Certification

The Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G devices carrying respective model numbers of ‘SM-M166P/DS’ and ‘SM-E166P/DS’ have been certified by the BIS authority of India. They have received the grant/inclusion on to the database as of on the 13th of December 2024. While nothing about their specs or other features have been revealed, the BIS listing confirms the Indian launch of the two smartphone models.

Speaking more, both the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G devices were spotted earlier on the Wi-Fi Alliance database too, as mentioned. Certain connectivity specs like Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac connectivity, 2.4GHz & 5GHz dual band support, WPA2 – Enterprise/Personal & WPA3 – Enterprise/Personal protection, Wi-Fi Direct, dual SIM support, and Android 14 operating system were revealed via the Wi-Fi Alliance database.

Moreover, the Galaxy M16 5G also appeared on the Geekbench database. Performance specs such as the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, ARM Mali G57 MC2 GPU, and 8GB RAM variant were revealed. The listing again pointed out that the device will offer the Android 14 operating system out of the box.

Since the two devices have already started appearing on more and more certification and benchmark platforms, we are probably nearing their official launch. Considering the launch time frames of their predecessors, the launch may take place either by the end of this year or by early next year as per reported.
