TECNO PHANTOM V Fold 2 5G again spotted on several certification websites including Google Play Console, Key specs revealed
TECNO is likely preparing to launch its next foldable smartphones in the global market. According to previous leaks and rumours, one of them will be the TECNO PHANTOM V Fold2 5G, while the other is a flip phone called the TECNO PHANTOM V Flip 2 5G. Of the two, I will be talking about the PHANTOM V Fold2 5G, which has been spotted on Google Play Console, TUV, and EEC certification websites.
TECNO PHANTOM V Fold2 5G Google Play Console, TUV and EEC
Picking up from the Google Play Console listing, it is listed with the model number “AE10,” and the moniker on the listing is TECNO PHANTOM V Fold2 5G. From the past Bluetooth SIG certification, it was revealed that it may come with two similar monikers with slight alterations in their names. However, the Google Play Console shows TECNO PHANTOM V Fold2 5G.
Under the hood, it shows the SOC codename as “MediaTek MT6983Z/TCZA,” but this does not correspond to any known chipset. Previous Geekbench listings suggest it might be powered by the Dimensity 9000+ SOC, which also powered its predecessor. The SOC shown in the Google Play Console listing reveals a CPU with three clusters: one core clocked at 3.2GHz, three cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and four cores at 1.8GHz.
The CPU cores shown in this listing and on Geekbench share many similarities with the Dimensity 9000+, indicating that this might be a repackaged Dimensity 9000+ SOC, which is yet to be announced.
The GPU listed is the Mali G710, clocked at 955 MHz. Furthermore, it reveals that this upcoming foldable will boot from Android 14 OS out of the box and may come with at least 12GB of RAM.
The screen size shown in the listing is 2000×2296 with a pixel density of 480 DPI, similar to what we have seen in its predecessor.
The same model number “AE10” is listed on the TUV certification. According to the TUV, we will probably see a dual battery setup comprising 2973 mAh and 2637 mAh, totalling 5610 mAh. This is definitely an upgrade.
Lastly, this same model number “AE10” has also appeared on the EEC certification, indicating that its entry into the European markets is also somewhat confirmed.
Now here I would say, this is probably the final step on the ladder, which this smartphone has stepped onto and we may hear some sort of an announcement from TECNO soon.
