Upcoming Google Pixel 9 Revealed To Arrive With Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner

Google has recently announced that its upcoming event will be held on 13th August 2024. The other details regarding this event were kept under wraps but the teaser suggested that the company might unveil the much-awaited Google Pixel 9 series at this particular event.

Google Pixel 9 series has been a part of the rumor mill for a long time now due to which we have come across a lot of details regarding the upcoming smartphone series. Android Authority has now revealed an exclusive update regarding Google Pixel 9 which might excite the Pixel fans.

As per a recent report by the publication, Google will finally be addressing the long-term problem of Pixel devices that are slow and sometimes unreliable under-display fingerprint sensors by introducing an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the upcoming Pixel 9.

Earlier Google used optical scanners in its Pixel devices which are considered to be slower, less accurate, issue usage in low light environments, and more sensitive to any moisture or dirt on the finger. While this was not the case with ultrasonic scanners many smartphone brands are already using ultrasonic fingerprint scanners in their devices.

It is revealed that the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is coming to all the variants of Pixel 9. The specific unit used by Google is Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Gen 2 (QFS4008). This same unit was used by Samsung in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Let’s see what more upgrades we will get to see in the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series.
