The reason this new 5G variant is expected to differ from the existing one is due to the chipset that has been spotted on the Geekbench database.

Vivo V40 Lite 5G and 4G spotted on Geekbench, CQC, and SDPPI certifications

It is not unusual for Vivo to release similar smartphones under different names in various markets. This strategy appears to be effective for Vivo, as it maintained a strong market presence with 6.7 million units shipped in Q2 of 2024. Now, we have observed both the 5G and 4G variants of this model on several key certification websites, revealing many details.

Firstly, the Vivo V40 Lite 4G has been spotted on the SDPPI Indonesian telecom authority with the model number “V2424.” This same model number has also appeared on the CQC certification, indicating that it was tested with 15W, 18W, and 80W fast charging support. According to Geekbench, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 685 4G chipset, paired with an Adreno 610 GPU. It has achieved a single-core score of 475 and a multi-core score of 1579. The chipset features 4 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz and 4 cores at 2.8 GHz. Furthermore, the prototype tested on Geekbench runs Android 14 OS and is expected to come with at least 8GB of RAM.

Next is the 5G variant, which has also been spotted on the SDPPI with the model number “2418.” This 5G variant achieves a single-core score of 916 and a multi-core score of 2234. While it might initially seem that it uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, based on the core clock speeds, the source code reveals an Adreno 613 GPU. This suggests it is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. This indicates that Vivo will soon launch the Vivo V40 Lite series with new 5G and 4G variants. Additionally, the device is expected to run Android 14 OS and come with at least 8GB of RAM.
