Vivo’s next Y series smartphone Vivo Y28s 5G spotted on GCF and Malaysian SIRIM certification

Vivo launched the Y28 5G in January of this year in the Indian market. Recently, the rumor mill has been buzzing about a 4G variant of this smartphone, as it was sighted on IMDA, FCC, and Bluetooth SIG. But wait, there is going to be a third smartphone in this series, called the Y28s 5G. We at The Tech Outlook have exclusively spotted this smartphone on the GCF and SIRIM certifications with the model number “V2346”.

The GCF certification reveals details about this upcoming device’s network connectivity. According to the certification, it will have 5G features like 5G NR (SA) and 5G EN-DC (NSA). It also revealed the 5G bands it will support: n1, n2, n3, n5, n8, n20, n28 (30MHz bandwidth), n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78. Additionally, it shows support for a physical SIM card (Removable UICC card).

Moving on to the Malaysian Telecom certification SIRIM, it is listed with the same model number “V2346”. Under the model description, it states Vivo Y28s. Although the 5G part is missing, through GCF we learned it to be a 5G smartphone.

Only this much is revealed via these certifications. Regarding other specs and details, we may have to wait for it to appear either on Google Play Console or Geekbench. Both of these certifications always help determine the specs a device may come with.
