Xiaomi Can Soon Launch Its Tri Fold Smartphone In Market, Patent Filing Suggests

Huawei just recently launched a tri-fold smartphone Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design in China. The market can soon witness the launch of such phones from other brands also. Recently DCS in a Weibo post claimed that Honor could be the first company to launch a tri-fold smartphone after Huawei. An X user named Teme even claimed in a post that Honor is aiming for 10mm thickness when folded for its triple-folding phone. Xiaomi is also reported to be working on a tri-fold smartphone that can be launched in the coming days, suggest a patent filed by the company.

91mobiles has recently discovered a patent filing at China National Intellectual Property Administration(CNIPA) that reveals the design of a smartphone by Xiaomi that could be a tri tri-fold smartphone. The document attached with the application is dated 3rd September. The render looks quite similar to the recently launched Huawei Mate XT smartphone. Its rear panel shows a rectangular island that can house a triple camera setup with an LED flash.

Similar to the Huawei tri-fold phone this phone may also allow users to fold it and use it in different ways. The rest of the information about this upcoming phone still remains under the wrap though at the same time, it’s important to mention that this might be just a concept that can remain a concept. In case it comes in the coming days, it can be launched under the MIX series that has housed its foldable under it.

As far as recent launches are concerned, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 14T series in the global market on 26th September and just after that we can also witness the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series.
