[Update: Spotted on TDRA] Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 and POCO C71 Smartphones Listed on India’s BIS Certification Database

Update (February 10, 2025, at 22:36 IST): The Redmi A5 has now been spotted on the UAE’s TDRA certification with the model number “25028RN03A.” Notably, both the Indian variant and the UAE variant share similarities, with the Indian model number ending in “I” and the UAE version ending in “A.” Since the device has now appeared in these certifications, an official announcement may be expected soon.

While there were a lot of confusions regarding the monikers of the Redmi ‘25028RN03I’ and POCO ‘25028PC03I’ devices, with initial updates claiming the two as Redmi 14 4G and POCO M7 4G respectively, later updates confirmed them to be the upcoming Redmi A5 and POCO C71 smartphone models. These two Indian variants of the Redmi A5 and POCO C71 smartphones have now made it to the BIS certification platform, suggesting that they may soon debut in the Indian market.

Redmi A5 and POCO C71 – BIS Certification

As mentioned above, the Redmi A5 and POCO C71 devices carry the respective model numbers of ‘25028RN03I’ and ‘25028PC03I’, and have been included on to the BIS database as of on the 7th of February 2025. To note, the model numbers of the two upcoming devices also suggest that their launch may possibly take place this month in February 2025.

To speak of previous updates, both the Redmi A5 and POCO C71 smartphones have received the FCC certification too. The two have also been spotted on the EEC certification platform as well, and the Redmi A5 device has also been listed on the IMEI database.

A few of their revealed key specifications include 4G network connectivity, WiFi 5 with dual band support, Bluetooth (BR + EDR + LE), NFC (optional), and Android 15 based HyperOS 2.0 custom skin. Xiaomi’s Redmi A5 and POCO C71 are both also expected to offer four storage options – 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB.
