Jio Bharat phone launched in India at Rs 999, with new cheaper plans

Reliance Jio launched the Jio Bharat 4G phone in India at the cost of Rs 999. As per the company, the beta testing of the first million Jio Bharat phones will begin on 7th July which means it would be available for users soon. This feature phone is aimed to accelerate the company’s vision to make “2G-MUKT BHARAT”. The phone comes with a Rs 123 plan valid for 28 days which the company claims to be 7 times higher than its competitors at this price. The same plan worth Rs 1,234 annually offers 168 GB of data.

“There are still 250 million mobile phone users in India who remain ‘trapped’ in the 2G era, unable to tap into basic features of the internet at a time when the world stands at the cusp of a 5G revolution. Six years ago, when Jio was launched, we made it clear that Jio will leave no stone unturned to democratize the internet and pass the benefits of technology to every Indian. The new Jio Bharat phone is another step in that direction,” Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said.

As far as its features are concerned this feature phone comes with a 1.77-inch QGVA TFT screen. It packs a 1000 mAh removable battery. Users won’t be able to use any SIM from any other service providers as it’s a JIO SIM-locked device. It has a rear 0.3 MP camera for capturing moments. Additionally, you will also find a torch, radio, and 3.55 headphone jack. It comes with JioCinema, JioSaavn, and JioPay which enable users to enjoy movies, and songs and perform UPI-based digital payments using JioPay.
