Jio’s Rs. 61 5G Upgrade Plan
Jio’s 5G network services previously were only available for users who had a Rs. 239 base plan or a higher plan on their devices but with the Rs. 61 plan, more users will be able to access Jio’s 5G services, granted that they have a 5G smartphone and the city in which they reside in supports Jio’s 5G services.
However it should also be noted that inorder to avail the 5G services with the Rs. 61 upgrade plan, users should ensure that they have an active plan of Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199 or Rs 209. The upgrade will work only for these listed plans. Again it should also be noted that Jio users who have received Jio’s 5G Welcome Offer will only be able to access this upgrade.
With the Rs. 61 upgrade plan, users will be given a total data of 6GB of high speed internet after which the speed will drop to 64Kbps. The validity will be the same as that of their active plan.
Jio offers StandAlone 5G services and as of February 2023, 406 India cities have access to Jio’s 5G services which includes all the major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and many more. In comparison to this, Airtel which is the other telecom company competing with Jio, uses a non StandAlone structure to depl0y its 5G services and has only expanded its services to 265 Indian cities.
