Reliance Jio brings back its Rs 189 plan under Affordable pack category

Previously TRAI amended tariff rules to mandate mobile service providers to issue a separate plan for voice calls and SMS, for customers who do not require data. After this amendment, telecom companies like Jio, Airtel, and Vi introduced their voice and SMS-only plans.
There were three value plans introduced by Jio Rs 189, Rs 479, and Rs 1899 but after the new voice-only plans were announced, there were only two plans under the Value category on the Jio website and app while the Rs 189 plan was completely removed. Well, this Rs 189 plan has now been brought back by Jio.
If you now go to the Jio app or website and click on the Value category you will see two voice-only plans while there is also a new sub-category Affordable Packs in which you will find a Rs 189 plan. This plan arrives with 28 days of validity and offers benefits like- unlimited voice calling, 300 SMS, 2GB data, and JioTV, JioCinem, and JioCloud subscriptions.
Also if you now take a look at the Jio voice-only plans the prices have now been revised. Earlier there was Rs 458 plan with 84 days validity and Rs 1958 plan with 365 days validity but now there is a Rs 448 plan with 84 days validity and Rs 1748 plan with 336 days validity.
This price revision of voice-only plans was also done by Airtel. This happened because after the telecom companies introduced their previous voice-only plans, users questioned the affordability of the plans which led to TRAI intervention when the authority asked to review the newly introduced voice-only plans in an X post (now deleted).
