T-Mobile opens their Starlink beta testing for free to all the users till July; Company reportedly spent $8 million to air its Super Bowl commercial for this announcement

In December 2024, T-Mobile opened the beta registrations for text messaging service via the direct-to-cell Starlink satellites but this beta program was said to be limited to a few Android smartphones only. After the release of iOS 18.3, T-Mobile subscribers with a compatible iPhone and Starlink beta access were also able to connect to Starlink satellites. But now T-Mobile has officially announced that Starlink beta is now available for free for all users (including Verizon and AT&T customers) till July.

Elon Musk has also re-shared this announcement on the X platform urging users to register for the program. The beta test is free and open to anyone on any carrier until July. Users can sign up now to join the beta test and get satellite-powered messaging at no extra cost. Whether in remote areas like hiking trails or in areas impacted by severe weather or natural disasters, more people now have access to the WEA broadcast when they need it most. For now, T-Mobile Starlink delivers cell phone signals for text messages with picture messages while data and voice call services will be enabled later.
The beta is free until July at which point T-Mobile Starlink will be included at no extra cost on Go5G Next (including variations like Go5G Next 55+). Business customers will also get T-Mobile Starlink at no extra cost on Go5G Business Next. T-Mobile customers on any other plan can add the service for $15/month per line. Through February, T-Mobile customers who have registered for the beta can secure a $10/month per line Early Adopter Discount, 33% off the full price. Apart from this, during the beta period, Verizon and AT&T customers can experience T-Mobile Starlink text messaging for free, and once the service launches in July, it will be available for $20/month per line.
Everyone on any carrier including businesses and first responders can sign up for the beta. Users will be enrolled on an onion basis to help test the system and provide feedback before launching in July.
Well, it is revealed that T-Mobile has apparently spent $8 million to air its Super Bowl commercial to announce that their Starlink beta program will now be open to anyone on any wireless carrier for free until July.
